I have great respect for the courage and the strength that I see in clients within the counselling process. I regard therapy itself as a fluid process, and I seek to offer caring, attuned therapeutic support as clients deepen their exploration into who they are, how they want to shift, and how they might expand their connection with themselves and with others around them.
I am honoured to work with individuals and with couples, from diverse backgrounds, on a range of issues that include: relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, spirituality, sexuality, life transitions, self-esteem, grief and loss, stress, chronic health concerns, and special needs.
I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University (2008). My research on mothers, daughters, and physical disabilities has been recognized and awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have practiced as a RCC in a variety of therapeutic settings, including schools, non-profit community services, and other private practice agencies. I engage in the therapeutic process from an attachment-based, relationally-centered, trauma-informed foundation, and the well-being and wisdom of the whole person is explored and supported within this lens of care. I am drawn towards therapeutic approaches that foster compassion, mindfulness, and embodiment as a part of connection. My training includes Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (level 1), Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (levels 1 & 2), and Gottman (level 1). These theories and my appreciation for other experiential models are key components that ground my therapeutic approach.
It is my hope that through our therapeutic work together, clients will be able to more fully access their own voice and resources, and relate with themselves and with others with a deeper sense of understanding, wholeness, and balance. I seek to create an atmosphere of healing for them that feels safe, caring, and inclusive, in which clients feel welcomed to come with all parts of their story.
